Benefiting Emergency Services at the Queen
Queen of the Valley Medical Center understands the importance of having an Emergency Department (ED) that you trust for life-saving care every day and in times of crisis.
To better serve our community during a crisis, the Queen’s ED is undergoing a renovation that will include a Fast Track Unit. This unit is designed to treat patients with less critical needs during normal times and to accommodate a visitor surge during a crisis. It can also be converted to an isolation unit when needed.
This renovation will also include construction of two dedicated isolation treatment rooms, installment of technology that allows virtual interaction between physicians and nurses in every ED patient room and the purchase of an ED-dedicated Xenex Disinfecting Robot, triage tents for use during major emergencies and powered air-purifying respirators to protect caregivers from infectious diseases.
Over 30,000 patients each year rely on the Queen as the only state-designated Level III Trauma Center in the county. And just this year, the American College of Emergency Physicians awarded Queen of the Valley with a Geriatric Emergency Department accreditation, recognizing its age- and dementia-friendly practices.
The Queen’s ED is always ready to care for you, 24/7, 365 days a year.
